Origins
Scrum.org is your source of knowledge regarding Scrum, how to use it, and to assess your knowledge of it. Scrum.org was founded by Ken Schwaber, one of the creators of Scrum.
Purpose
Scrum.org's purpose is to improve the profession of software development so that developers love their work and our customers love working with developers.
Programs
Scrum.org runs four programs:
- Professional Scrum Master.
The Professional Scrum Master (PSM) program is the first significant update of the Certified ScrumMaster program that Ken Schwaber first created in 2002. The PSM course covers Scrum basics, including the framework, mechanics, and roles of Scrum, but it also teaches how to use Scrum to optimize value, productivity, and the total cost of ownership of products. The program also includes two levels of assessment and certification, as well as a free practice exam. - Professional Scrum Developer.
Professional Scrum Developer (PSD) courses teach students how to use modern software engineering practices to develop an increment of completed, potentially shippable functionality. Students learn to do so through within the Scrum framework, working as part of self-organizing cross-functional teams to do iterative, incremental development. The program also includes assessment and certification for each targeted technology platform. For more information about the PSD program. - Professional Scrum Product Owner.
The Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) program teaches people how to maximize the return on investment (ROI) and optimize the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of products and systems. Agile Product Ownership today requires more than knowledge of how to write a User Story or manage a Product Backlog. Agile Product Owners need to have a concrete understanding of everything that drives value from their products. The PSPO course helps students develop and solidify this understanding - from early stakeholder management to release planning and delivery. For more information about the Professional Scrum Product Owner course. - Professional Scrum Foundations.
Scrum Teams succeed best with a solid foundation and this 2 day course prepares students to begin effectively using Scrum immediately. The Scrum framework, mechanics, and roles of Scrum are emphasized with emphasis on practical application. This course is the perfect introduction to Scrum for anyone new to the framework. Whether your team needs a flawless Scrum launch or needs to reboot a struggling Scrum implementation, this class lays the foundation for an effective Scrum team. This course lays the foundation of knowledge needed for other, more advanced training such as Professional Product Owner and Professional Scrum Master.
